Thank you for helping grow our community. Participating in a referral program (either by referring your friends or family or signing up with a referral code) can be a great way for Modern Animal clients to receive a discount (each a "Referral Reward") toward their membership fee or services during a visit at any of the Modern Animal facilities.
Modern Animal Referral Program Rules ("Program Rules") apply to referral programs that are administered solely by Modern Animal. By accepting and sharing your referral code or by signing up with a referral code, you are agreeing to be bound by these Program Rules. The Program Rules are in addition to any agreements between you and Modern Animal, including Modern Animal Terms of Service, as applicable (collectively, the “Modern Animal Terms”). Any violation of these Program Rules will not only prevent you from participating in any Modern Animal referral program (now or in the future), but could also result in the forfeiture or retraction of any Modern Animal discount earned through the program.
1. Who is eligible to be a referrer/inviter?
Anyone may be a referrer/inviter who (a) is a legal resident of the United States, (b) must be over the age of 18, and (c) has a Modern Animal account in good standing. Referrers/inviters can be any active Modern Animal users or members; however, they cannot have more than one account.
2. Who is eligible to be a referee/invitee?
Your friends, family, and other people you know (but not yourself or anyone who is already added to your household as an “authorized person”) may be eligible to be referees/invitees. To receive a Referral Reward for referring someone who joins Modern Animal through the Modern Animal app and/or websites, your referee/invitee must (a) be a new Modern Animal user of that service, (b) meet the conditions Modern Animal has for using the app, and (c) book their first in-person visit at any of the Modern Animal facilities and attend the appointment.
If you are providing Modern Animal with the contact information for your referees/invitees, you represent that you have the right to provide that information.
3. How can I use my referral code?
Modern Animal has the right to limit the number of times you may use or share your referral code based on the referral program in which you participate. To see if your code has a limit, refer to the terms of the specific referral program in which you are participating.
Modern Animal appreciates your support sharing your referral code and wants you to earn Referral Rewards, but referral codes must be used only for personal and non-commercial purposes. This means that you can share your referral code only with people you know. You agree that you will not:

Duplicate, sell, or transfer your referral code in any manner or make it available to the general public (such as by printing it on business cards; posting it on a coupon website, job website or using it as part of a job application, including but not limited to the following website and applications Amazon, eBay, Fiverr, Craigslist, RetailMeNot, Reddit, Wikipedia, Gumtree, Moneysavingexpert, Groupon or using paid social media or paid search);

Try to get referees/invitees by spamming, bulk emailing, or sending large numbers of unsolicited emails. The only people you should be emailing are people you know personally;

Use, display, or manipulate Modern Animal intellectual property (such as Modern Animal’s logos, trademarks, and copyright-protected works) in any way, except as to identify yourself as a Modern Animal user, Modern Animal referrer/inviter, or referrer/inviter for Modern Animal;

Create or register any (i) businesses, (ii) URLs, (iii) domain names, (iv) software application names or titles, or (v) social media handles or profiles that include the word "Modern Animal" or any of Modern Animal’s other trademarks or any words that are confusingly similar to Modern Animal’s trademarks.

Use Modern Animal’s trademarks as your social media profile picture or wallpaper or use any of Modern Animal’s copyright-protected works (such as graphics, photos, images, drawings, and screenshots from Modern Animal’s website or app) without Modern Animal’s express written permission;

Purchase keywords (including, but not limited to Google AdWords) that contain any of Modern Animal’s trademarks;

Use automated systems or bots through any channel to distribute, post, or otherwise share your referral code;

Use scripts or programmed or automatic dialers to send invites or otherwise share your referral code;

Make misleading claims about Modern Animal, use offensive/abusive content, create fake websites/webpages/social media profiles/apps, misrepresent your connection to Modern Animal, or otherwise make any false or misleading statements to get a referee/invitee to use your code; or

Use your referral code in any manner that violates the law or the rights of anyone else.
Don’t forget, when you share your referral code, you should explain that you are a Modern Animal referrer.
Modern Animal retains the sole right to make the final determination as to whether a person has violated the terms and conditions and may cancel any credits for any member that the Company has deemed to have violated these terms.
4. How do I earn my Referral Reward as a referrer/inviter?
As long as you and your referee/invitee follow these Program Rules and the Terms of Use governing your use of Modern Animal services, you should receive your Referral Reward after your referee/invitee uses your code to sign up with Modern Animal and completes the required action (in this case, booking their first in-clinic visit with an intention to attend the appointment). Canceled appointments may not count toward these minimum requirements. Note that unless stated otherwise on the referral offer, all referral discounts will expire 365 days after the date that the invitee signs up for Modern Animal.
Although there’s currently no limit on the number of times you may use your referral code, you can redeem up to 4 Referral Rewards (valued at $50 each, $200 total) per visit at Modern Animal. Your unused but valid Referral Rewards will be saved under your account until your next visit or until they expire, whichever comes first.
Modern Animal reserves the right to set a limit on the number of times you may use your referral code. The requirements for receiving, and the amounts of, Referral Rewards are subject to change at Modern Animal’s sole discretion. Referral Rewards in the form of Modern Animal discounts are not transferable, have no cash value, and may expire.
5. How can I earn a Referral Reward as a referee/invitee?
Referees/invitees may get a discount the first time they attend an appointment at any of the Modern Animal facilities. In order to receive the discount, referees/invitees must enter a referral code during the booking process or provide proof of referral prior to the first-time appointment to [email protected]. The amount and form of the discount will be shown in their invitation.
6. Termination and changes
Modern Animal reserves the right to change, end, or pause, in whole or in part, any referral program, as well as any referrer/inviter's or referee/invitee's ability to participate in any referral program or receive Referral Rewards at any time for any reason, including suspected fraud (including by either the referrer and/or referee/invitee), abuse, or any violation of these Program Rules as well as any agreement (if one exists) between you and Modern Animal or any of its subsidiaries and affiliates. If Modern Animal ends any referral program, any unused or unredeemed Referral Rewards may be forfeited at that time, provided we give you 28 days of notice to use or redeem your Referral Rewards.
Modern Animal may update these Program Rules at any time. If Modern Animal makes an update, Modern Animal will post the update on the ModernAnimal.com website and applications and provide you notice of the update. Continued participation in any referral program after any update will mean that you have agreed to the update.
